Master Loctician and Hair Practitioner

Gillian Mckenzie is a Master Loctician and Hair Loss Practitioner from the United Kingdom. Gillian has thirty years of experience and she specialises in all forms of locs including Sisterlocks (™) and traditional locs.

She enjoys sharing her knowledge and educating individuals whilst supporting persons to start, grow and maintain their locs to a healthy level. She has held workshops and participated in webinars on several topics including Going Natural and Hair Loss.

Gillian’s favourite quote is, ‘Your locs are with you more than it is with me, so learn how to maintain it’.

About The Sessions

This free session introduces attendees to the world of locs. It provides an overview of the webinar topics including starting locs, maintaining locs and products for locs. It highlights common myths about locs and includes a discussion on myth busters.

This session presents valuable information on starting the locs journey. It explores the decision-making process, types of locs, choosing a locs style based on hair characteristics, differences among the types of locs and trusted locticians. The session also highlights the pitfalls of DIY locs.

This session will equip attendees to maintain healthy locs. It covers topics such as grooming (retwisting, trimming, washing and drying techniques, tools and products); styling (types of styles, pros and cons of styling); hair loss (causes, symptoms and solutions); and repairing damaged locs. The session also includes practical instruction on how to combat smelly locs.

In this session attendees will receive comprehensive information on the types of products that they should use to repair, groom and style their locs. It focuses on the best products for hair and scalp, the problems caused by using certain products, solutions to address incorrect product usage and product recommendations.

This session is an exclusive question and answer session. It will address frequently asked questions about locs. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask personal questions. The session also introduces participants to expert locticians located in Trinidad and Tobago, who will provide information on the services that they offer.

Personal Development Mentor

Loving God, cherishing family, mentoring others, and liming all help to describe Annmarie Mitchel. She and her husband, Lindon have been married for 25 years, and they are the parents of 2 wonderful children, Anya and Josiah.

Annmarie believes that women have the privilege of loving, supporting and cheering each other on. She is convinced that older women are entrusted with the responsibility of sharing their lives and learnings with younger women. In that regard, she is grateful for the women who shared their lives and learnings with her, and is passionate about doing the same for others.

Over the last 30 years, Annmarie has been mentoring women, and along with her husband, continue to mentor engaged and married couples.

Annmarie holds a BSc. in Chemistry and Management from the University of the West Indies and is a graduate of the West Indies School of Theology, with a B.A in Bible and Theology. She was trained with Cru and served as a missionary from 1997-2006. Her training in ministry includes special emphasis in the areas of mentoring/discipleship and leadership development. Annmarie has worked in the public and private sectors and with NGOs such as children’s homes.

Image Consultant

Niki Rodrigues is a devout believer, wife, homeschooling mother of eight children, and entrepreneur. She is the founder and owner of three businesses:

Living Large is a family-focused Facebook page that provides inspiration to over 11 thousand followers daily, sharing DIY videos, family fun, virtual shopping trips, and money saving ideas. Her aim is to share “ideas, inspiration, and innovation” and her reviews on local businesses have garnered hundreds of thousands of views. 

As an avid DIYer, self-taught woodworker, and avid designer, Niki began offering her room redesign services as part of her Living Large brand, under the title Re-Design on a Dime. Her skilful ability to redesign a space on a budget enabled her to help clients around the world turn their spaces from plain to perfect. Eventually, she would share her re-designing skills as the host of her own feature presentation on CCN TV6, which premiered on December 11th 2022 to rave reviews. She continues to be passionate about bringing life and beauty to people’s spaces.

Niki’s Image Consultancy, Made in His Image focuses on providing impactful professional image courses for companies and individuals and facilitating self improvement workshops for teens and adults, especially parents and women.
